Device Description
The tools feature a tool holder, locking sleeve, worklight, rotational direction switch, belt clip, and a user interface for speed and mode selection. The GDX 18V-285 includes a dual tool holder (1/2" external square and 1/4" internal hexagon), while the GDR 18V-215 features a 1/4" internal hexagon.
Assembly
To insert an application tool, pull the locking sleeve forward, guide the tool into the holder until it stops, and release the sleeve to lock it. For the GDX 18V-285, slide the tool onto the square drive. Ensure the tool is securely held before operation.
Operation
The tool is driven by an electric motor via a gear and impact mechanism. The working procedure consists of two phases: screwing in and tightening. The impact mechanism activates once the connection runs tight and the motor is under load. Use the rotational direction switch to change direction (not possible while the on/off switch is pressed). Speed and impact rate are controlled by the pressure applied to the on/off switch.
User Interface
The user interface allows for speed preselection (2 stages) and selection of predefined working modes. The GDX 18V-285 features ABR (Automatic Shutdown) for nut loosening and Auto Shut-off (metal). The GDR 18V-215 features Auto Slow-down (wood) and Auto Shut-off (metal).
Maintenance

Common problems
Tool does not start
Check if the battery is inserted correctly and charged. Ensure the on/off switch is not blocked.
Tool stops automatically

Application tool falls out
Ensure the locking sleeve is fully engaged and the tool is correctly seated in the holder.
