The Bosch GHO 18V-26 Professional is a cordless planer designed for planing wood-based materials like beams and boards, as well as for chamfering edges and rebating. Always ensure the battery is removed before performing any maintenance or accessory changes.
Device description
Key components include the cutting depth adjustment knob, chip ejector (switchable left/right), planer base plate, V-grooves for chamfering, and a parking rest to protect the workpiece when the tool is set down.
Operation
To operate, adjust the cutting depth using the knob. To start, press the lock-off switch, then hold the on/off switch. For high-quality surfaces, use a low feed rate and apply pressure to the middle of the base plate. The integrated parking rest allows for safe placement of the tool during work interruptions.
Blade replacement
Use only original Bosch HM/TC planer blades. To replace, turn the blade head until it is parallel to the base plate. Loosen the fastening screws with the hex key (stored inside the tool), loosen the clamping element if necessary, and slide the blade out. Ensure the new blade is seated correctly in the guide and tighten the screws firmly.
Dust/Chip extraction
Connect a dust extraction system or the provided chip/dust bag to the chip ejector. Empty the bag regularly to maintain optimal suction. The chip ejection direction can be adjusted using the changeover lever.
Maintenance
Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean. Regularly clean the chip ejector and ensure the parking rest moves freely.

Chip ejector is clogged
Clean the ejector regularly using a suitable tool like a piece of wood or compressed air.
Poor surface quality
Use a lower feed rate, apply pressure to the middle of the base plate, and ensure planer blades are sharp.
Battery charge indicator not lighting up
The battery may be defective and needs replacement.

- Check that the planer blades are sharp and correctly installed.
- Verify that the fastening screws for the blades are tight.
