Quick guide from the manual
The Bosch GKH 18V-50 is a hydraulic cordless cable cutter designed for cutting multi-wire and fine-wire aluminum and copper cables without steel reinforcement. Important: Do not use for continuous operation longer than 15 minutes. The tool must be operated by trained professionals aged 16 or older and only by one person at a time.
Operation
Insert the battery just before starting the cutting process. To cut, press and hold the On/Off button (10). The worklight (8) will turn on. Once the tool detects a complete cut, the blades (1) will open and the motor will stop automatically. Release the On/Off button. If the process needs to be stopped prematurely, release the On/Off button or press the reset button (3) until the blades are fully open.
Status Indicators
The status indicator (4) provides feedback on the tool's condition:
- Green (3s): Ready for use or cut successful.
- Yellow (3s): Maintenance due in less than 1000 cycles.
- Yellow (continuous): Maintenance interval of 20,000 cycles exceeded.
- Red (3s): Battery too weak, tool outside operating temperature, or incomplete cut/internal fault.
Maintenance and Service
Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance. The tool requires maintenance after 20,000 cycles or at least every 4 years. Do not sharpen blunt blades (1) yourself; send the tool to an authorized Bosch service center. Keep the tool dry and clean, and transport it only in the provided XL-BOXX.
