Quick guide from the manual
The Bosch GKM 18V-50 Professional is a cordless circular saw designed specifically for cutting ferrous metals up to a depth of 50 mm. It is not intended for wood materials. Always ensure the chip container is properly closed and locked before operation.
Device description
Key components include the spindle lock button (1), protective guard with chip container (2), cutting depth scale (4), and the PowerLight (26). The tool features an integrated run-out brake and Electronic Cell Protection (ECP) to protect the battery from deep discharge.
Operation
Setting cutting depth: Loosen the clamping lever (10), adjust the saw position relative to the base plate (13) to the desired depth, and retighten the lever.
Blade replacement: Place the tool on the motor housing front. Press and hold the spindle lock button (1). Use the hex key (5) to loosen the clamping bolt (16). Retract the pendulum guard (21) and remove the flange (17) and blade (18). Install the new blade, ensuring the rotation direction matches the arrow on the guard. Tighten the bolt to 6–9 Nm.
Chip container: Metal chips are collected in the container (2). To empty, push the locking mechanism (25) up, open the lid (24), and tilt the tool sideways.
Safety and maintenance
Always remove the battery before performing maintenance or changing accessories. Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean. If the chip container lid (24) is damaged, it must be replaced. The pendulum guard must always move freely and close automatically; keep this area clean using a brush.

Practical help
Common problems
Check battery charge indicator. If no LEDs light up, the battery may be defective and needs replacement.
If using a ProCORE18V 12.0Ah battery, it may sit on the workpiece during operation, limiting the maximum cutting depth.
Clean the area around the pendulum guard and remove dust/chips with a brush.
Before use
- Ensure the chip container is closed and locked.
- Check that the pendulum guard moves freely and closes automatically.
- Verify the saw blade is sharp and suitable for the material.
- Ensure the battery is fully charged.
- Check that the cutting depth and bevel settings are securely tightened.
