Assembly and Operation
Battery Management
Insert the charged battery into the handle until it clicks into place. To remove, press the release buttons and pull the battery backward. The battery is protected against deep discharge by Electronic Cell Protection (ECP).
Changing the Tool
Wear protective gloves when changing tools to avoid injury. Use the provided hex key to loosen the clamping bolt, remove the tool, position the new tool as desired, and secure it with the bolt. Ensure the tool is seated securely.
Operation
Slide the on/off switch forward to turn the tool on ('I') and backward to turn it off ('0'). Use the thumbwheel to preselect the orbital stroke rate based on the material (e.g., level '6' for harder materials like wood/metal, level '4' for softer materials like plastic).
Sanding
Attach the sanding sheet to the sanding plate using the hook-and-loop system. Ensure the holes in the sanding sheet align with the holes in the sanding plate for effective dust extraction. Always connect a dust extraction system when sanding.
Maintenance
Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean for safe operation. Regularly clean Riff accessories with a wire brush. If the tool fails to operate, check the battery charge status.

Practical help
Common problems
Check battery charge status. If no LEDs light up, the battery is defective and must be replaced.
Apply consistent, light pressure. Moving the tool back and forth prevents overheating and jamming.
Ensure consistent pressure; excessive pressure does not increase removal rate but increases wear.
Before use
- Ensure the battery is fully charged.
- Check that the tool is securely fastened in the tool holder.
- Verify the correct accessory is selected for the material.
- Ensure ventilation slots are not blocked.
- Connect a dust extraction system if sanding.
