Quick guide from the manual
The Bosch GOP 18V-40 is a cordless multi-cutter designed for sawing, cutting, sanding, and scraping. Key features include the Starlock tool mounting system, Adaptive Speed Control for precise cuts, and Stop Control for automatic shut-off.
Device Description
The tool features a handle with an insulated gripping surface, a user interface for mode selection and status monitoring, an on/off switch, and a worklight. It supports various Starlock, StarlockPlus, and StarlockMax accessories.
Tool Change
To change an accessory, open the Starlock lever (7) until it stops. The accessory will be ejected. Place the new accessory on the tool holder (8) with the offset facing downwards. Press the accessory firmly onto the clamping jaws until it locks automatically. Always wear protective gloves when changing tools.
Depth Stop
The depth stop (10) can be used with segment and plunge cut saw blades. Slide it over the tool holder (8) onto the collar of the power tool until it engages. Set the desired depth and lock it using the clamping lever (11).
Sanding
The sanding plate (15) uses a hook-and-loop system. Ensure the holes in the sanding sheet (16) align with the holes in the sanding plate for optimal dust extraction. Use a maximum oscillation speed level of "4" for sanding.
Dust Extraction
Always connect a dust extraction system when sanding. Remove the accessory and depth stop before mounting the dust extraction system (13 or 14). Secure it by closing the clamping lever (23) and connect the extraction hose (26) to a suitable vacuum cleaner.
Operation
Use the on/off switch (3) to operate the tool. The user interface (2) allows for oscillation speed preselection, toggling Adaptive Speed Control and Stop Control, and monitoring tool status. If the tool shuts down automatically due to a low or overheated battery, switch it off and let the battery cool or charge it.
Maintenance
Remove the battery before any maintenance or tool change. Keep the tool and ventilation slots (6) clean. Regularly clean Riff accessories with a wire brush.
