Device Description
The GSA 18V-32 is a cordless reciprocating saw designed for cutting wood, plastic, metal, and building materials. It features an SDS tool holder for quick blade changes, adjustable pendulum action, and a swivelling/removable base plate.
Assembly
Removing/Inserting the Battery: Press the battery release button to remove the battery. To insert, push the charged battery into the battery holder until it clicks into place.
Changing the Saw Blade:
- Wear protective gloves when changing the blade.
- Ensure the blade receptacle is free of debris.
- Swing the blade release lever (3) approx. 60° in the direction of the arrow and hold.
- Insert the saw blade (1) into the receptacle (14).
- Release the lever.
- Check that the blade is securely seated by pulling on it.
Operation
Switching On/Off: Press the lock-off button (8) forward, then press and hold the on/off switch (7). Release the switch to turn off the tool.
Pendulum Action: Adjust the pendulum action using the rotary switch (5) to adapt cutting speed and performance to the material.
Stroke Rate Control: Regulate the stroke rate by varying the pressure on the on/off switch (7) or preselect it using the thumbwheel (6).
Working Advice
- Plunge Cutting: Only perform plunge cuts in soft materials like wood or gypsum board. Use blades with a maximum length of 100 mm.
- Flush Sawing: Use elastic bi-metal blades to cut protruding elements like water pipes directly at the wall.
- Utility Hook: Use the hook (4) to hang the tool, e.g., on a ladder. Ensure the blade is protected when the tool is hung.
Maintenance
Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance. Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean. Clean the blade receptacle with a soft brush and lubricate if necessary.

Common problems
Check that the blade is securely seated in the receptacle by pulling on it.
Remove the blade and run the tool at maximum stroke rate for approx. 3 minutes to cool down.
Switch off the tool immediately. Widen the sawing gap with a suitable tool and pull the saw out.
