The Bosch GKH 18V-50 is a hydraulic cordless cable cutter designed for cutting multi-wire and fine-wire aluminum and copper cables without steel reinforcement. This tool is intended for professional use by trained personnel over 16 years of age.
Safety instructions
- Personal safety: Always wear safety goggles. Never reach into the tool head area unless a safe operational stop is ensured (fully open head and battery removed).
- Operation: Operate the tool only by hand. It is prohibited to use the tool in a fixed position or clamped in a device.
- Electrical safety: The tool is not suitable for working on live parts. Ensure no live parts are in the work area before starting.
- Battery safety: Protect the battery from heat, fire, moisture, and water. Do not use damaged or modified batteries.
Operation
Cutting process:
- Insert the battery into the tool just before starting the cut.
- Press and hold the on/off button (10) to start the cutting process. The worklight (8) will turn on.
- Once the tool detects a complete cut, the blades (1) will open and the motor will switch off automatically.
- Release the on/off button.
Manual stop: If the cutting process needs to be stopped prematurely, release the on/off button. If the blades do not open automatically, press and hold the reset button (3) until they are fully open.
Maintenance and cleaning
- Remove the battery before any work on the tool (maintenance, tool change, etc.).
- Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean.
- The tool requires maintenance after 20,000 work cycles or at least every 4 years.
- If the status indicator (4) lights up yellow continuously, the maintenance interval has been exceeded. Send the tool to an authorized Bosch service center.
- Do not sharpen blunt blades (1) yourself; send the tool to an authorized service center.
Status indicators
The status indicator (4) provides feedback on the tool's condition. A green light indicates readiness or a successful cut. A yellow light indicates an upcoming or exceeded maintenance interval. A red light indicates a fault, such as a weak battery, temperature issues, or an incomplete cut.
