Device Description
The tool features a spindle lock, speed preselection buttons, and an LED indicator for status and battery level. It is designed for use with a backing pad and compatible grinding discs.
Assembly
Before performing any maintenance or changing accessories, remove the battery. To mount grinding tools:
- Clean the grinding spindle (9).
- Push the spindle lock (8) forward to release the collet (16).
- Loosen the clamping nut (10) using the open-ended spanner (14).
- Insert the backing pad (11) shank into the collet (16) until it stops.
- Tighten the clamping nut (10) clockwise with the spanner.
- Mount the disc (12) onto the backing pad (11).
- Push the spindle lock (8) back to its original position.
Ensure the tool is clamped at least 10 mm deep.
Operation
To start the tool, push the unlocking lever (6) forward and press the on/off switch (7) upward. Release the switch to stop. Use the speed preselection buttons (3) to adjust speed (5000–15000 min-1). The LED indicator (2) shows speed settings and battery status.
Safety
Always wear personal protective equipment, including eye protection. Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped. Do not use the tool for wire brushing, polishing, or cutting-off. Avoid dust accumulation at the workplace, as it can be flammable.
Maintenance
Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean for safe operation. For repairs, contact Bosch after-sales service. Always remove the battery before transport or storage.

Common problems
Tool stops or speed reduces during use
The tool is overloaded or the battery temperature is out of range. Switch off, let the battery cool down, and reduce the load.
LED flashes yellow (5x)
Critical temperature reached. Run the tool at no load to cool it down.
LED flashes red (5x)
Tool is overheated, jammed, or spindle lock is active. Rectify the cause and restart.
Before use
- Ensure the battery is fully charged.
- Check that the grinding tool is compatible and undamaged.
- Verify the grinding tool is clamped at least 10 mm deep.
- Ensure the clamping nut is securely tightened.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (eye protection, dust mask).
