The Bosch 11253VSR and 11255VSR are high-performance rotary hammers designed for drilling and chipping applications. These tools utilize the SDS-plus system for efficient torque transfer and energy delivery. The 11255VSR model includes an additional HammerHook for convenient storage.

Operation
The tool features a variable speed trigger switch for precise control. The reversing switch lever allows for both forward and reverse rotation. A selector dial enables switching between drilling, drilling/hammering, and hammering-only modes. The Vario-Lock feature allows for 36 different locking positions for chisels and other accessories. The slip clutch is designed to engage if the bit binds, protecting the operator from torque reaction.
Maintenance
To ensure long tool life, keep ventilation openings clean and free of debris. Periodically check carbon brushes (every 2-6 months) and have bearings replaced by an authorized service center after 300-400 hours of operation. Use only genuine Bosch replacement parts. Common problems
Bit binds in the hole
The slip clutch will engage. Immediately turn the tool OFF and correct the condition causing the binding.
Tool stalls during operation
Too much pressure at low speed can stall the hammer. Reduce pressure or adjust speed.
Bit not cutting effectively
Too little pressure causes excess friction and sliding. Ensure steady, moderate pressure.
Before use
- Ensure the switch is in the OFF position before plugging in.
- Check that the auxiliary handle is securely tightened.
- Verify the correct mode is selected on the selector dial.
- Ensure the accessory is properly locked into the SDS-plus holder.
- Check that the work area is clear of hidden wires or pipes.
