Table of contents

Quick guide from the manual

This document provides critical safety information for 18V Bosch Li-ion AMPShare batteries. Users must follow these guidelines to prevent electric shock, fire, or serious injury. Key requirements include using only recommended chargers, adhering to specified operating temperatures, and avoiding short-circuiting the battery terminals.

Safety instructions

These instructions apply exclusively to 18V Bosch Li-ion AMPShare batteries. They are fully compatible with all Bosch Professional 18V system products and 18V products from AMPShare partners. Always observe the battery recommendations provided in the operating manual of your specific power tool.

Charging

Only use chargers recommended by the manufacturer or AMPShare partners. Using an incompatible charger poses a fire risk. The battery is supplied partially charged; for full capacity, charge it completely before the first use. Charging must occur within an ambient temperature range of 0 °C to +35 °C. If the battery has a USB port, charge it via that port only between +10 °C and +35 °C.

Operation and storage

Operate and store the battery only within an ambient temperature range of -20 °C to +50 °C. Do not leave the battery in a car during summer. Temperatures below 0 °C may result in reduced performance depending on the device.

Battery defect risk detection

For EXPERT18V and EXBA18V models, the battery charge indicator LEDs can signal a defect risk. To activate this, press and hold the charge indicator button for 3 seconds. A moving light indicates analysis. 1 LED signifies a high defect risk, and replacement is recommended. 5 LEDs indicate the battery is in good condition with low risk.

Maintenance and cleaning

Occasionally clean the ventilation slots and terminals with a soft, clean, and dry brush. Do not use chemical substances for cleaning.

Disposal

Do not dispose of batteries with household waste. They must be collected separately and recycled in an environmentally friendly manner according to local regulations.

Common problems

Battery has a high defect risk (1 LED signal)

Performance and runtime may be reduced. It is recommended to replace the battery.

Battery performance loss in cold weather

At temperatures below 0 °C, some devices may experience a loss of power. This is normal behavior.

Risk of fire or explosion

Protect the battery from heat, prolonged sun exposure, fire, water, and moisture. Do not short-circuit or open the battery.

Before use

  • Ensure the battery is fully charged in a recommended charger before first use.
  • Check that the battery is compatible with your power tool (Bosch Professional 18V or AMPShare partner products).
  • Verify that the ambient temperature is within the safe operating range (-20 °C to +50 °C).
  • Inspect the battery for any physical damage or leakage.
