Quick guide from the manual

The Bosch UniversalFan 18V-1000 is a cordless fan designed for indoor and outdoor ventilation in dry conditions. It is powered by Bosch 18V lithium-ion batteries. Key operations include speed control via the operating button and various mounting options such as hanging, tripod mounting, or clamping.

Operation

To turn the fan on, rotate the operating button clockwise. To turn it off, rotate it counter-clockwise until you hear a click. The same button controls the air speed; rotate clockwise to increase speed and counter-clockwise to decrease it. The fan head can be tilted 30° forward and 150° backward.

Battery usage

Insert a charged battery into the holder until it clicks. To remove, press the release button. The battery charge indicator shows the remaining capacity when the operating button is pressed. If the LEDs flash quickly, the battery is outside the operating temperature range or the overload protection has triggered.

Mounting options

Locate the battery compartment on the base of the device.
Locate the battery compartment on the base of the device.
  • Keyhole: Position the wide part of the keyhole over a screw head (4–6 mm diameter) and slide the fan down to secure it.
  • Utility hooks: Pull the hooks out fully from their slots and rotate them if necessary to hang the fan on a stable surface (max. depth 36 mm).
  • Rod holders: Position the holders over rods (max. 22 mm diameter) and push the fan onto them.
  • Tripod: Use the 1/4" tripod mount to attach the fan to a tripod with a load capacity of at least 3 kg.
  • Screw clamps: Use the clamping surfaces to secure the fan with screw clamps.

Maintenance and cleaning

Always remove the battery before performing any work on the fan. Regularly clean the fan and the grille in front of the ventilation slots. Use dry compressed air to blow out the interior of the fan head, the propeller, and the motor housing. Use a clean cloth for cleaning; do not use brake fluid, petrol, petroleum-based products, or strong solvents, as these can damage the surface.

Safety

Supervise children to ensure they do not play with the fan. Keep air inlets and outlets free. Do not insert objects into the rotating fan wheel. Do not use the fan near open flames or glowing objects.
