This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation of the Bosch UniversalHedgeCut 18V-48, 18V-50, and 18V-55 cordless hedge trimmers. Always ensure the battery is charged and the blade is lubricated before use.
Product Description
The hedge trimmer is designed for cutting and trimming hedges and bushes in domestic gardens. Key components include the front and rear handles with safety switches, the cutting blade, and the battery compartment.
Operation
Switching On/Off: To start the tool, insert the battery until it clicks. Simultaneously press the front switch and the switch on the rear handle. To stop the tool, release either or both switches.

Working Technique: Move the hedge trimmer evenly forward along the cutting line. The double-sided cutting blade allows for cutting in both directions or with a side-to-side motion. For straight sides, cut from bottom to top in the direction of growth.
Anti-Blocking Mechanism
If the blade stalls on tough material, the motor load increases. The intelligent micro-electronics detect this and repeatedly reverse the motor to prevent stalling and cut through the branch. This audible reversing action lasts up to 15 rounds.
Maintenance and Cleaning
- After use: Clean the hedge trimmer with a damp cloth and apply BOSCH lubricant spray to the blades.
- Safety: Always remove the battery before any maintenance, cleaning, or transport.
- Storage: Store in a dry, secure place out of reach of children.
Troubleshooting
If the hedge trimmer does not operate, check if the battery is discharged or not fully connected. If the blades become hot, they may be blunt, have dents, or lack lubrication. If the cutting time per charge is low, check your cutting technique or clean the blade.
