Quick guide from the manual

The Bosch UniversalUSB 18V-45 is a battery adapter designed to power up to two USB devices simultaneously using a Bosch 18V Li-ion battery or a battery from the POWER FOR ALL system (PBA 18V). This adapter allows you to extend the runtime of mobile phones, MP3 players, or tablets.

Device components

  • (1) Battery adapter
  • (2) Belt clip
  • (3) USB port
  • (4) Rechargeable battery
  • (5) Battery release button

Operation

Inserting and removing the battery: Slide the battery (4) into the adapter (1) until it clicks into place. To remove, press the release buttons (5) on the battery and pull it out.

Charging USB devices: Ensure your device is compatible with the adapter's output (5V). Insert the battery, then connect your device's charging cable to the USB port (3). The adapter will automatically terminate charging when the device is fully charged.

Automatic shutdown: To save energy, the adapter shuts down if no USB device is connected for 2 weeks, if the connected device stops drawing charge for 8 hours, or if no device is connected for 2 weeks after charging is complete. To reactivate, remove and re-insert the battery.

Battery status indicators

The adapter features LEDs that indicate the battery's charge level for 3 seconds after insertion and continuously during operation. The battery itself may also have its own charge indicator LEDs.

Maintenance and troubleshooting

Keep the battery and adapter clean and dry. If the USB device does not charge, check the battery charge, ensure the device is compatible, remove and re-insert the battery, or try a different cable. If the adapter's LEDs flash rapidly, the battery temperature is outside the operating range or the adapter is overloaded.
