Important Safety Information
This document provides essential safety guidelines for the installation and operation of EGLO lighting fixtures. Always ensure the mains power is disconnected (fuse turned off) before beginning any installation, maintenance, or bulb replacement work to avoid electrical hazards.
Protection Classes
- Protection Class 1: Lamps must be connected to the network side with a yellow/green protective earth conductor to the protective earth terminal.
- Protection Class 2: No protective conductor is necessary for safe operation.
- Protection Class 3: Operate only with Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) circuits.
Installation and Usage
- Minimum Distance: Observe the minimum distance between the illuminant and the illuminated surface to prevent fire hazards.
- Downlights: Do not cover the lamp with thermal insulating material.
- Modifications: Do not make any changes to the lamp or its connecting cable.
- Damaged Cables: The exterior flexible cable of this light cannot be replaced. If the cable is damaged, the lamp must be scrapped.
- Commissioning: Do not operate the lamp if it or its connecting cable shows visible signs of damage.
Maintenance and Cleaning
- Changing Illuminants: Ensure the light is not live before replacing the illuminant. Lights and illuminants become hot during operation; allow them to cool before changing.
- Specifications: Use only the illuminant type specified on the light. Do not exceed the maximum power per illuminant.
- Cleaning: Clean the lamp only when turned off. Ensure no moisture enters connection areas or current-carrying parts. Cleaning agents may cause staining.
