This document provides technical instructions for installing parking sensor systems on 11th Generation Honda Civic vehicles. It covers sensor placement, wiring connections for various trim levels, and ECU integration. Note that base trims display rear sensors on the OEM screen, while mid/high trims support displays on both the dashboard and the OEM screen.
Sensor installation positions
The system supports both front and rear parking sensor configurations. Sensors should be mounted in the factory-designated locations on the front and rear bumpers for both Hatchback and Sedan models to ensure optimal detection coverage.
Wiring and electrical connections
Proper wiring is critical for system functionality. Follow these guidelines for connecting the sensor system:
- CAN Bus Connection: Connect the White wire (CAN+) to the pink wire and the Red wire (CAN-) to the blue wire.
- Power Source: Connect the system to the ACC power source located in the vehicle's fuse box.
- Wiring Method 1 (Driver's side): Locate the connector above the fuse box. Connect the pink wire to pin 3 and the blue wire to pin 4.
- OEM Screen Connection: When connecting behind the OEM screen, match the colors: Pink to pink, Blue to blue, Yellow to ACC, and Black to ground.
ECU and system integration
The ECU location varies based on the vehicle configuration:
- 11th Gen Civic: The ECU is typically located on the right side of the vehicle's trunk.
- 10th Gen Civic: The ECU for the rear parking system is located behind the right side of the OEM screen.
- Upgrades: Factory-installed 4-sensor rear systems can be upgraded to an 8-sensor system (front and rear) using the specific Honda plug-and-play harness.

Common problems
Sensor display not appearing on dashboard
Verify if your vehicle trim supports dashboard display; base trims may only support rear sensor display on the OEM screen.
Incorrect wiring connection
Ensure CAN bus wires (White/Red) are correctly matched to the vehicle's pink/blue wires and that the ACC power source is properly tapped.
Before use
- Identify your vehicle trim level (Base vs. Mid/High).
- Confirm if you are installing a 4-sensor or 8-sensor system.
- Locate the correct ECU position for your specific generation (10th vs 11th Gen).
- Verify access to the fuse box for ACC power connection.
- Ensure you have the correct Honda-specific plug-and-play harness.
