Preparation and Tools
Before beginning the installation, ensure you have the following tools and materials ready:
- 4mm Hex bit and driver
- 6.5mm drill bit and drill
- 10mm spanner
- Clamps
- Mounting hardware (included with the kit)
It is recommended to raise the vehicle safely to gain better access to the rear bumper area. Begin by positioning the diffuser pieces against the rear bumper to determine the desired fit and alignment. Use clamps to hold the diffuser in place while you adjust its position relative to the bumper.
Installation Procedure
Once the diffuser is aligned, use the 6.5mm drill bit to create mounting holes in the rear bumper. Note that some diffuser models may come with pre-drilled holes; if so, use these as a guide for drilling into the bumper. When installing the hardware, place the larger washer on the side contacting the diffuser and the smaller washer on the side contacting the rear bumper. Secure the nuts by hand initially, then use the 4mm hex bit and 10mm spanner to tighten them. Ensure the mount is snug but avoid overtightening to prevent damage to the bumper or the kit components. If your kit includes side pod pieces, repeat the installation process for those sections. Some vehicle configurations may require the removal of stock clips to ensure a proper fit.
