Quick guide from the manual
The Husqvarna S 138C is an electric scarifier designed to remove thatch and moss from lawns and loosen the soil to improve air and water penetration. It features two types of dethatcher equipment: blade tines for vertical cutting and spring tines for gentle removal of dead grass.
Assembly
Handle Assembly: Loosen the lower knobs, move them to the lower end of the grooves on both sides, set the desired height, move the knobs up until they click, and tighten fully.
Grass Catcher Assembly: Attach the frame to the grass bag with the rigid part at the bottom. Secure the bottom section in the groove and attach the bag to the frame using the clips. Lift the rear cover and attach the catcher to the top edge of the chassis, ensuring the rear cover seals against it.
Operation
Setting Work Depth: Push and turn the adjustment knob counterclockwise to increase depth, or clockwise to decrease it.
Starting the Product: Connect the power cord to the socket under the handle, secure it in the power cord holder, stand behind the product, loosen the start inhibitor, and push the motor brake handle toward the handlebar.
Stopping the Product: Release the motor brake handle to stop the motor, then disconnect the power cord.
Maintenance
Maintenance Schedule: Perform a general inspection, clean the product, examine the dethatcher equipment, and check safety devices (covers, motor brake handle, start inhibitor) before each use.
Cleaning: Use a dry cloth for plastic parts. Do not use water, high-pressure washers, or flush the motor directly. Use a brush to remove debris.
Replacing Dethatcher Equipment: Place the product on its right side, remove the two screws and the cover, push the equipment up and out, then insert the new equipment and reattach the cover.
Troubleshooting
If the product does not start, check if the power cord is connected to the power source and the product, ensure the motor brake handle is pushed toward the handlebar, and inspect the power cord for damage.
