This document provides essential information for the hardware installation and initial setup of the LANCOM 1900EF router. Before starting, ensure the device is connected to a professionally installed power supply and that the mains plug is always accessible. Important: Due to high touch current, the device must be connected to earth before connecting the power supply.
Device description and interfaces
- WAN 1 (SFP / TP combo): Supports SFP modules (e.g., 1000Base-SX/LX) or standard TP Ethernet connection.
- WAN 2 (TP): Dedicated WAN interface for modem connection.
- ETH 1 - ETH 4: Gigabit Ethernet ports for PC or LAN switch connection.
- Config (Com) / V.24: Serial interface for device configuration.
- USB: High-speed port for printers or storage devices.
- Power & Grounding: IEC power connector and grounding point located on the back.
Mounting and connecting
For desktop operation, attach the provided adhesive rubber footpads. For rack installation, use the included 19-inch mounting brackets, ensuring the 'R' and 'L' marks are correctly positioned. Keep all ventilation slots clear and do not stack objects on the device.

LED status indicators
- VPN: Indicates active, inactive, or connecting VPN status.
- POWER: Shows operational status, LMC pairing, or password warnings.
- WAN 1 / WAN 2 & ETH 1 - ETH 4: Indicate network connection, data transmission, and link speed (1000 Mbps vs 10/100 Mbps).
