Quick guide from the manual

To get started with your Retrospec iSUP, ensure you have a clear, flat surface for setup. The board requires inflation to 12-15 PSI. Always verify the red valve stem is in the up (locked) position before pumping. Install your specific fin configuration (Tri-fin, 5-fin, or single-fin) before heading to the water. Always wear a leash and a coast guard-approved personal flotation device (PFD).

Safety Warnings

  • Always wear a leash: Prevents separation from the board if you fall.
  • PFD: Wear a coast guard-approved personal flotation device at all times.
  • Weather: Do not use in severe weather or strong winds.
  • Visibility: Never use after sunset; carry a waterproof flashlight if caught after dark.
  • Alcohol/Drugs: Do not consume as they affect your ability to operate the board safely.
  • Shallow Water: Avoid riding in shallow water to prevent damage to fins and fin boxes.
  • Hypothermia: Wear a wet or dry suit in cold water conditions.

Inflation Instructions

  1. Prepare the board: Unroll on a flat surface free of sharp objects, with the deck and valve facing up.
  2. Prepare the valve: Remove the cover. Ensure the red valve stem is in the up (locked) position. If it is down, turn it counter-clockwise to close.
  3. Assemble the pump: Screw the pressure gauge onto the handle until it stops. Attach the yellow hose to the gauge outlet.
  4. Connect: Push the hose into the air valve and twist clockwise to lock.
  5. Inflate: Begin pumping. The gauge will not register pressure until the board reaches 10 PSI. Inflate to 12-15 PSI.
  6. Finish: Remove the hose and replace the valve cap.

  3. Press down at the front of the fin to lock it into place.

Deflation and Storage

  1. Fin Removal: Press the tab on the lock clip and slide fins out.
  2. Clean and Dry: Rinse with fresh water and allow to dry completely before storing to prevent mildew.
  3. Deflate: Push down on the red valve for 10 seconds to burp air, then turn the stem clockwise and push in to release air.
  4. Roll: Start at the nose (opposite the valve) and roll tightly toward the valve.
