The SAL BS 10A is an amplified subwoofer designed for vehicle audio systems. It can be connected to car radios using either low-level (RCA) or high-level (speaker wire) inputs. Before using the device for the first time, it is recommended to run it at 50% capacity for 30-50 hours to allow the speaker to break in properly.

Safety instructions

• Installation: Requires technical knowledge. If unsure, contact a specialist to avoid damaging the device or the vehicle.
• Power: Ensure the system is powered off during installation. Connect the +12V power supply, REM (remote turn-on), and GND (ground) correctly.
• Handling: Do not disassemble or modify the unit. Keep away from liquids, heat sources, and direct sunlight.
• Protection: Do not touch the subwoofer cone or rubber edge. Keep audio cables separate from power cables to avoid interference.
• Hearing: Avoid listening at high volume levels for long periods to prevent hearing damage.

Installation and connection

There are two primary ways to connect the audio signal:

• Low-level (RCA): If your car radio has an RCA output, use a separate RCA cable to connect the radio's LINE OUT to the subwoofer's INPUT L/R.
• High-level (Speaker wire): If your radio lacks RCA outputs, connect the radio's speaker outputs to the subwoofer's SPKR IN L/R terminals.

Power terminals:

• +12V: Connect to a 12V power source (fuse panel or battery).
• REM: Connect to the remote turn-on signal from the car radio. If the radio lacks this, connect to a switched +12V source.
• GND: Connect to the vehicle chassis (ground).

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, turn off the device and check the following:

• No sound: Check if the amplifier is receiving power, verify the polarity of the power connection, and ensure the input cables are connected correctly.
• Poor sound quality: Check the input signal level. If the signal is too high or too low, adjust the volume or signal source accordingly.

Disposal

This device contains components that may be hazardous to the environment. Do not dispose of it with household waste. Take it to a designated electronic waste collection point or return it to the retailer.
