Important information from the manual
This document serves as a supplement to the main instruction manual for the SAL 1000USB voltage converter. It provides critical safety and operational procedures regarding grounding requirements and protection circuit behavior.
Grounding requirements
For stationary use, it is essential to ensure proper grounding of the device:
- The casing is connected to the grounding of the mains voltage output.
- The casing must be grounded by connecting it to a metal rod.
- The metal rod must be inserted at least 1.2 meters into the ground to ensure good contact.
Protection and troubleshooting
The device is equipped with a protection circuit to prevent damage during abnormal conditions:
- High Input Voltage: If the input voltage exceeds 15.9V, the red indicator LED will light up, and the device's protection circuit will shut down operation.
- Reset Procedure: If the protection circuit shuts down the device, user intervention is required. First, turn off the connected equipment, then turn off the inverter. Allow the device to cool down completely before turning it back on.
Operational notes
The device's cooling fan turns on automatically when necessary. Please note that significant heating of the voltage converter during operation is a natural phenomenon resulting from its function.
Practical help
Common problems
Turn off the connected equipment, then turn off the inverter. Allow the device to cool down, then restart.
The input voltage is too high (above 15.9V). The protection circuit has disabled the device.
Before use
- Ensure the device is properly grounded for stationary use.
- Verify that the input voltage is within the safe operating range.
- Ensure the cooling fan area is not obstructed.
Specs in practice
