The Sharper Image SDC301 is a Full HD 1080P dash camera designed for vehicle recording. Before using the device, ensure you have a compatible Micro SD card (Class 6 or higher, max 32GB) and charge the unit for 2-4 hours. The camera supports automatic loop recording, motion detection, and a parking guard feature.

Location of Controls

The camera features several physical buttons and ports:

• Power Button: Short press to turn on; long press to turn off.
• Record Button: Starts/stops video recording and confirms menu selections.
• Mode Button: Switches between video, photo, and playback modes.
• Menu Button: Accesses settings and menu options.
• Reset Button: Located on the side, use to restore factory settings.
• Ports: Includes an AV output, USB port for charging, and a Micro SD card slot.

Setting up the Camera

Follow these steps to prepare your dash cam for use:

1. Micro SD Card: Insert a Micro SD card (not included) into the slot. Use a card with a capacity of 32GB or less and a speed class of 6 or higher. Always format the card via the camera settings menu before first use.
2. Mounting: Slide the windshield mount onto the camera until it clicks into place. Attach the suction cup to your windshield and secure the mount.
3. Charging: Connect the provided charging cable to the USB port on the camera and the other end to your vehicle's cigarette lighter. The LED indicator will turn red while charging and turn off when finished.

Using the Camera

Recording Video: Once the camera is connected to power, it will automatically begin recording when the engine starts. To record manually, press the Record button.

Taking a Picture: Switch the camera to Photo mode using the Mode button, then press the Record button to capture an image.

Playback and File Management: Switch to Gallery mode using the Mode button. Use the navigation buttons to browse saved files. You can view, delete, or lock files to prevent them from being overwritten during loop recording.

Camera Settings

Access the settings menu by pressing the Menu button while in standby mode. Key settings include:

• Date/Time: Set the current date and time.
• Resolution: Choose between 1080P, 720P, or VGA.
• Loop Recording: Set the duration of video clips (Off, 1, 2, 3, 5, or 10 minutes).
• Motion Detection: Enable or disable automatic recording based on movement.
• Parking Guard: Enable to record when the camera detects vibration while the vehicle is parked.
• Frequency: Adjust to 50Hz or 60Hz to match local power standards.
• Format: Erases all files on the SD card.
