How to Use Your Coffee Maker

Heating Water and Descaling

You can also use the appliance to heat water for tea or hot chocolate by following the same steps but omitting the coffee grounds. To maintain the performance of your coffee maker, regular descaling is necessary to remove calcium deposits. Fill your mug with a mixture of 2/3 white vinegar and 1/3 cold water, pour it into the reservoir, and run a brewing cycle without coffee. Follow this with a cycle using only fresh water to rinse the system.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Always unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth; do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. The permanent filter can be removed and washed in warm, soapy water. Never submerge the main coffee maker unit in water or any other liquid.
