Quick Start Guide

The Starfrit Digital Baking Kitchen Scale is designed for precise weighing and volume measurement. Before first use, ensure you remove the battery isolation sheet from the battery compartment. Place the scale on a solid, flat surface for accurate readings.

Batteries and Power

The scale requires 3 AAA batteries. To replace them, open the battery case underneath the scale, insert new batteries observing the correct polarity, and close the case. The scale features an auto shut-off function after 2 minutes of inactivity to preserve battery life. You can also manually turn it off by pressing the power button for 3 seconds.

Weighing and Volume Modes

To use the scale, press the power button to turn it on. Use the Unit button to cycle through different measurement modes. The LED screen displays indicators for weight (g, lb:oz) and volume (ml, fl'oz). To measure volume, place a bowl on the scale, turn it on, and use the unit button to select the milk or water mode before pouring the liquid.

Zero and Tare Functions

The Zero button serves as both the power button and the tare function. To weigh items consecutively without removing the previous item, press the Zero button after the first item is weighed. The scale will reset to zero, allowing you to add the next ingredient. If the total load is 7 oz (200 g) or less, the scale will reset to zero. If the load is over 7 oz, the scale will display the total weight of all items.

Care and Maintenance

Clean the scale with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the scale in water. All plastic parts should be cleaned immediately after contact with fats, spices, vinegar, or strongly flavored/colored food. Avoid contact with acid citrus juices. Do not use chemical or abrasive cleaning agents.

Troubleshooting

If the screen displays Lo, the batteries are low and need to be replaced. If the screen displays Err, the scale is overloaded; remove the item to avoid damage. The maximum capacity is 11 lb / 5 kg.
