This document provides instructions for installing the SW-MOTECH 07.649.60000-B Top Case Kit. It covers two main configurations: mounting the URBAN ABS top case to a STREET-RACK and using the lashing variation. Always use liquid thread locker on screws as specified. Ensure the vehicle is parked safely before starting installation.
Mounting to the STREET-RACK
- Remove the seat, passenger grips, and tail fairing as required.
- Attach the mounting bracket (1) to the vehicle using the provided screws and washers.
- Insert the four plastic plugs (9) into the ends of the mounting struts (5).
- Attach the mounting struts (5) to the vehicle.
- Secure the luggage rack (10) to the mounting bracket (1) and struts (5) using the specified screws (11, 13) and lock nuts (14).
- Tighten all screws to the specified torque once all components are positioned without tension.
URBAN ABS Top Case Installation
For the STREET-RACK version, open the top case, flip up the inner lining, and attach the locking system (4) under the top case using the provided screws. For the lashing variation, attach the foam rubber base (4) instead.
Lashing Variation
To secure the top case using the lashing method, attach the cover plate (7) inside the case. Use the two loop straps (11) to secure the case to suitable attachment points on the vehicle, such as the frame or footrest mounts. Ensure straps do not touch hot or moving parts and maintain at least 15 cm distance from the exhaust.
Maintenance and Care
- Use only a soft textile brush, cloth, or sponge with soapy water for cleaning.
- Rinse with clean water after washing.
- Do not use harsh cleaning agents, rough tools, or high-pressure washers.
- Protect the case from salt during winter conditions.
- Surface materials may fade over time due to UV exposure and environmental factors.

Common problems
Top case feels loose after installation
Ensure all loop straps are tightened until the top case is centered and securely fastened to the vehicle.
Strap interference with vehicle parts
Ensure all straps are at least 15 cm away from hot parts like the exhaust and do not touch moving components.
Before use
- Verify all parts from the parts list are present.
- Ensure the vehicle is parked safely and the engine is off.
- Check that all screws are tightened to the specified torque.
- Confirm that no cables or hoses are pinched or obstructed.
- Perform a function check after the first 50 km and at regular intervals.
