Getting to Know Your RuckVac

The RuckVac consists of the main unit, a flexible hose, and various attachments. Key components include the canister lid, hose inlet, on/off power switch, and the harness system with shoulder straps and a waist band for ergonomic support. The unit utilizes a combination of a dust bag, a shake-out bag, and a HEPA pre-motor filter to ensure efficient filtration.

Operating Instructions

Assembling the Vacuum:

  • Ensure the power cord is unplugged.
  • To insert the dust bag, press the canister lid tabs on both sides to open the unit.
  • Slide the dust bag firmly into the slots in the bag holder.
  • Ensure the shake-out bag is in place before closing the canister lid.
  • The canister lid can be oriented with the hose opening on the left or right side based on your preference.

Attaching the Hose:

  • Insert the threaded end of the flexible hose into the hose inlet.
  • Turn the hose counter-clockwise until it locks into place.
  • Connect the telescopic tube to the hose and attach the desired floor tool.

Using the Vacuum:

  • Insert the power plug into a wall outlet.
  • Place the unit on your back, secure the shoulder straps, and fasten the waist band securely.
  • Turn the unit on using the switch located near the base of the unit.
  • Use the manual suction control on the hose handle to adjust suction power as needed.

Maintenance and Cleaning

  • Remove the bag and shake it out-of-doors until clean.
  • The bag is hand-washable in lukewarm water. Allow it to air dry for 24 hours before re-use.
  • Never place a wet bag back into the vacuum.

Cleaning the HEPA Pre-Motor Filter:

  • The HEPA filter captures 99.95% of particles as small as 0.3 microns.
  • Remove the filter from underneath the shake-out bag.
  • Tap the filter on a hard surface to remove residual dust.
  • Wash the filter under a tap at least once a month or when suction appears reduced.
  • Allow 24 hours for the filter to dry completely before reinstalling.
