Quick guide from the manual
The ZWILLING Fresh & Save vacuum pump is designed to create an effective vacuum seal for ZWILLING storage products, extending the shelf life of food. This manual provides instructions for safe operation, charging, and maintenance. Always ensure the pump is used only with approved ZWILLING accessories and never on people or animals.
Device Overview
The system consists of the vacuum pump, a charging station, and a USB charging cable. The pump features an ON/OFF button, an indicator light, and a battery symbol to communicate status.
Charging the vacuum pump
Charge the pump fully before first use. Place the pump in the charging station and connect the USB cable to a power adapter (5V, max 1000mA). The indicator light flashes slowly during charging and glows continuously when fully charged. Charge at least every 3 to 6 months to maintain battery health.
Vacuum sealing
Place the pump on the valve of the container or bag and press down lightly. Press the ON/OFF button to start the process. The pump stops automatically when the correct vacuum level is reached. You can stop the process manually at any time by pressing the ON/OFF button again.
Important usage conditions
- Ensure food is cooled to room temperature before vacuuming.
- Dry food before packaging if possible.
- Blanch vegetables that emit gases (e.g., cabbage, onions, garlic) before vacuuming.
- Do not vacuum seal blue cheese or fresh mushrooms (unless deep-frozen).
- Use the liquid barrier accessory for soft or liquid foods to prevent liquid from entering the pump.
- If liquid is accidentally sucked into the pump, stop immediately, shake the pump gently to remove liquid, and ensure it is completely dry before further use.
Cleaning and maintenance
Unplug the pump before cleaning. Clean the pump body and charging station with a dry or slightly damp cloth. The silicone seal can be removed and cleaned with water and detergent. Vacuum boxes are dishwasher safe; bags should be cleaned by hand and dried thoroughly.
Troubleshooting
If the pump fails to create a vacuum, ensure the lid, seal, and valve are clean, dry, and correctly positioned. If the pump stops during operation due to liquid intake, reset it by holding the ON/OFF button for two seconds after ensuring the device is dry.
