This document provides essential safety, charging, and connectivity instructions for the Black Decker LBXR20BT 20V MAX Bluetooth battery. The battery is not fully charged upon purchase and must be charged before first use. It features a USB Type A power port for charging mobile devices and Bluetooth connectivity for use with the SMARTECH app.

Safety instructions

• Do not incinerate the battery, even if damaged or worn out, as it may explode.
• Do not charge or use in explosive atmospheres (flammable liquids, gases, or dust).
• If battery contents contact skin, wash immediately with soap and water. If in eyes, rinse for 15 minutes.
• Do not splash or immerse in water or other liquids.
• Do not store or use in temperatures reaching or exceeding 105°F (40°C).
• Never attempt to open the battery pack. If the case is cracked or damaged, do not insert it into a charger.
• Prevent short circuits by keeping metal objects (keys, coins, nails) away from battery terminals during storage or transport.

Charging

Use only Black Decker LI-ION compatible chargers. Recharge the battery as soon as possible after use to prolong its life. Do not discharge the battery fully. Refer to the charger's manual for specific charging procedures.

SMARTECH app connectivity

The battery connects to mobile devices via Bluetooth Smart (4.0). Follow these steps to pair:

1. Download the Black Decker SMARTECH application.
2. Follow in-app instructions to create an account.
3. Ensure device Bluetooth is on, go to the My Tools screen in the app, and press the + symbol to add the battery.
4. Press the USB on/off button on the battery for 3 seconds until it beeps to activate pairing.
5. Confirm pairing and registration in the app.

USB power ports

The battery includes a USB Type A port delivering 1 amp of current. To use it, ensure the battery is charged, insert a USB plug into the port, and press the USB button or activate it via the SMARTECH app.

Recycling

The battery features the RBRC seal, indicating that recycling costs have been paid. Return spent batteries to an authorized Black Decker service center or local recycling center.
