The Bosch GHG 18V-50 Professional is a cordless heat gun designed for deforming and welding plastic, removing paint, and heating heat-shrink tubing. It is also suitable for soldering, tinning, and thawing water pipes. It is intended for handheld, supervised use.

Safety Instructions

  • Always wear safety goggles.
  • Wear protective gloves and do not touch the hot nozzle.
  • Do not use as a hair dryer.
  • Keep the work area well-ventilated.
  • Remove the battery before adjusting settings or changing accessories.

Selecting a Power Setting

Use the power level setting (3) to choose between two levels:

  • 300°C: For thawing pipes or processing heat-shrink tubes.
  • 500°C: For removing paint or soft-soldering.

Switching On and Off

To switch on, press the unlocking switch (4) and then the on/off switch (5). To switch off, release the on/off switch (5). Place the tool on the battery (9) to allow it to cool down.

LED Status Indicators

The LED worklight (6) also serves as a status indicator:

  • Brief flashing: Temperature change.
  • Flashing multiple times at start: Reduced output (battery < 4 Ah).
  • Slow flashing while switch is pressed: Restart protection or battery overheat protection.
  • Fast flashing while switch is pressed: Internal error.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Remove the battery before any work on the tool. Keep the heat gun and ventilation slots clean.
