Using Your Coffee Maker

Fill the water tank with cold water, ensuring it does not exceed the MAX level. Place the filter holder firmly in the housing and insert the GoldTone filter (or a size 4 paper filter). Add medium-coarse ground coffee (approx. 1 tablespoon per cup, max 14 tablespoons). Press ON/OFF to begin brewing. The machine will keep the warming plate hot for 2 hours before automatically shutting off.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Unplug the machine and allow it to cool before cleaning. Wash detachable parts in hot, soapy water. Wipe the exterior and heating platform with a soft, damp cloth. Never immerse the base in water.

Decalcifying

Descale every 2-4 months or if brewing 12 cups takes over 15 minutes:

  1. Remove the GoldTone filter.
  2. Dissolve 1 oz of Capresso Cleaning Solution in 32 oz of water and pour into the tank.
  3. Place the empty carafe under the filter holder.
  4. Turn the machine on for 2 minutes, then off for 15 minutes.
  5. Turn the machine on again to finish the cycle.
  6. Rinse by brewing fresh water through the machine at least 2-3 times.

Practical help

Common problems

Coffee drips from the filter when the carafe is removed.

Ground coffee may be stuck in the drip stop. Remove the filter holder, clean it under running water, and push the drip stop several times to clear particles.

Ground coffee is flowing over the GoldTone filter.

The coffee grind may be too fine, or there is too much coffee in the filter. Use a coarser grind, less coffee, or switch to a size 4 paper filter.

Before use

  • Clean all detachable parts with warm water.
  • Run two full cycles with water only (no coffee) to clean internal parts.
  • Ensure the outlet voltage matches the rating label on the machine.
  • Use only cold water for filling the tank.
