Quick guide from the manual
This document provides installation instructions for the Chief VCT XL Projector Mount and the HCU Interface Bracket. The VCT mount is designed to be attached to a 1-1/2 inch NPT or NPSM threaded extension column (Schedule 40, 0.154 inch minimum thickness steel or aluminum). The HCU interface bracket is used to attach the projector to the VCT mount. Warning: The combined weight of all components must not exceed 150 lbs (68.0 kg). The supporting structure must be capable of supporting five times the combined weight of all equipment.
Safety Instructions
- Do not use this mounting system outdoors.
- Never operate the system if it is damaged.
- Ensure the interface bracket hooks are securely seated on the VCT mount studs.
- Use only the hardware provided by the manufacturer; do not substitute hardware.
- Always ensure the projector is centered and balanced after mounting.
Installing VCT to Extension Column
- Loosen and remove the set screw from the VCT mount.
- Thread the VCT mount onto the existing 1-1/2 inch NPT pipe until tight (minimum of four threads engaged).
- Ensure the side of the VCT mount with two knobs is parallel to or opposite the screen.
- Tighten the set screw into the threaded collar to prevent movement.
Installing HCU Interface Bracket
- Maneuver the interface legs on top of the projector so that sliding stud brackets are positioned towards the middle and aligned with threaded holes.
- Select the correct screws and spacers from the hardware kit and attach the legs to the projector.
- Position the sliding stud brackets on the legs to match the interface assembly (L).
- Place the interface assembly (L) over the sliding stud brackets.
- Fasten the assembly using one M8 flanged nut per leg.
- Attach the HCU assembly to the VCT mount.
Adjustments
Pitch: Turn the PITCH knob to adjust tilt. For large adjustments, remove the center cap, insert the pitch socket adapter (B), and use a drill with an M13 socket.
Roll: Loosen the Roll nut, turn the ROLL knob to adjust, then re-tighten the Roll nut.
Yaw: Loosen the Yaw nut, rotate the mount around the column as required, then re-tighten the Yaw nut.
