Getting Started

Before brewing your first pot, it is essential to flush the system to remove any manufacturing dust. Fill the water reservoir to capacity and run a full brew cycle without adding coffee grounds. Once completed, your machine is ready for daily use. Always ensure the thermal carafe is correctly positioned on the resting plate before starting the brew cycle.

Programming and Operation

The coffeemaker offers advanced programming options, including a 24-hour Auto On feature. Use the function knob to set the clock and program your desired start time. The control panel also allows you to select brew strength (Regular or Bold) and a 1-4 cup setting for improved extraction when brewing smaller batches. The Brew Pause feature lets you pour a cup mid-brew, though it is recommended to avoid this to maintain optimal flavor strength.

Water Filtration

To ensure the purest taste, the unit includes a charcoal water filter that removes chlorine, calcium, and unpleasant odors from tap water. The filter should be soaked in cold water for 15 minutes before initial use and replaced every 60 days or after 60 uses, depending on water hardness.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for longevity. After each use, discard the used grounds and paper filter. The filter basket and carafe are dishwasher safe (top rack only). The base unit should be wiped with a damp cloth; never immerse it in water. When the Clean light flashes, it indicates a need for decalcification. Run a cycle with a mixture of one-third white vinegar and two-thirds water to remove calcium buildup, followed by a cycle of fresh water to rinse the system.
