Quick Guide from the Manual
This document provides essential instructions for the proper application, removal, and maintenance of the DonJoy ISOFORM LO back brace. Correct application is vital for the device to function properly. The brace is intended to be worn over clothing and is for single-patient use only.
Application Instructions

- Loosen the Brace: Detach the pull tab from the loop exterior and pull the belt wings in opposite directions.
- Position the Brace: Center the rear section of the belt at the midline of the lower back, ensuring it sits just above the crease of the buttocks.
- Secure the Brace: Secure the hook portion of the donning mitt to the loop exterior. Ensure the rear panel is positioned evenly. To tighten, slip your thumbs through the holes in the pull tabs and pull them away from your body, then secure the tabs to the loop exterior. Adjust compression as needed.
Removal Instructions
To remove the brace, first loosen it by detaching the pull tab from the loop exterior. Then, unhook the donning mitt from the loop exterior and take off the brace.
Brace Migration Tip
To reduce brace migration, loosen the brace by detaching the pull tabs before sitting. Once seated, tighten the pull tabs by pulling across the body and re-adhering them to the loop exterior. Readjust the pull tabs when standing up.
Hot/Cold Pack Usage
If using a hot/cold pack with the LO+ model, follow the specific instructions provided with the pack. Insert the pack into the pocket and adhere it to the back panel.
Use and Care Instructions
Only the soft goods can be wet-cleaned. Before cleaning, open the rear panel pouch and detach the waist belt. Remove the rigid rear panel from the pouch. To detach the pull tab section, unloop the waist belt from the lacing guide panel. Follow these steps in reverse to reassemble after washing.
- Hand wash in cold water (less than 86°F / 30°C) using mild soap.
- Air dry.
- Ensure the brace is rinsed thoroughly, as residual soap may cause irritation and deteriorate the material.
- Do NOT iron, tumble dry, or bleach.
Warnings and Cautions
Consult a medical professional if you experience pain, swelling, sensation changes, excessive discoloration, or skin irritation. Discontinue use if you notice distortion of support panels, fraying, or deterioration of lace cables. Ensure the brace is appropriately sized; if it does not fit properly, it may be reshaped by a healthcare professional. Avoid applying the brace too tightly to prevent excessive pressure. Do not expose the brace to moisturizers, chemicals, or solvents.
