Quick Start Guide for Fronius iWave 190i and iWave 230i Welding System

This document provides essential steps for the initial setup and preparation of the Fronius iWave 190i and 230i gas-cooled welding systems. Before beginning any work, ensure you have read and understood all provided documentation, including online resources available at manuals.fronius.com/html/4204260250.

Assembly

The welding system requires assembly on the provided cart. Use a TX25 screwdriver for the following steps:

• Secure the unit to the cart using the provided screws.
• Attach the handle and necessary mounting brackets.
• Ensure the welding power source is correctly seated and locked onto the cart base.
• Secure the gas cylinder to the cart using the provided straps.

Gas Connection

Follow these steps to connect the shielding gas:

• Place the gas cylinder on the cart and secure it with straps.
• Connect the pressure regulator to the gas cylinder.
• Ensure the gas hose is securely connected to the welding system.
• The maximum pressure for the gas supply is 5 bar (72 psi).

Torch and Cable Setup

• Connect the TIG torch to the front panel of the welding system.
• Ensure the connection is tight and the gas hose is properly seated.
• Connect the ground cable to the appropriate terminal on the front panel.
• For MultiVoltage models, ensure the correct power cable is attached.

Power Connection

• Connect the power cable to a suitable power source.
• For standard models, plug directly into the mains.
• For MultiVoltage models, ensure the voltage selector is set correctly before connecting to power.

Safety and Maintenance

Always wear appropriate protective gear, including a welding helmet, when operating the equipment. Ensure the torch is held at the correct angle during welding.
