This document provides installation and safety instructions for the GE Lighting Drake Square LED Flush Mount. Important: This product must be installed by a licensed electrician. Using a dimmer switch with this fixture will void the warranty. The light source is not replaceable; when it reaches the end of its life, the entire luminaire must be replaced.
Installation requirements
- Professional Installation: Must be installed by a licensed electrician in accordance with local and national wiring rules.
- Location: Suitable for indoor use only. Ensure the mounting point can support twice the weight of the fitting.
- Environment: Do not install near air vent systems. In moist areas, ensure proper ventilation and use an exhaust fan if necessary.
- Pre-installation: Check for transport damage before installing. Do not install if damaged. Ensure power is switched OFF before starting.
Installation steps
- Remove all packaging material, ensuring no accessories are discarded.
- Remove the shade by pulling out the 4 brackets (Fig. A).
- Loosen the screw to remove the terminal block cover (Fig. B).
- Use the fitting as a template to mark screw positions on the ceiling.
- Install the fitting onto the ceiling using appropriate screws and anchors (Fig. C).
- Connect the mains supply wire to the terminal block (Fig. D).
- Reinstall the shade back onto the fitting (Fig. E).
- Turn ON the power.
Wiring instructions
Connect the mains supply wire to the terminal block as follows:
- Neutral: Blue or Black (Connect to Blue N)
- Earth: Yellow/Green (Connect to Yellow/Green)
- Live: Brown or Red (Connect to Brown L)
Ensure wires are secure and no bare wires are exposed before replacing the terminal block cover.
Safety and maintenance
- Always ensure the power is OFF and the fitting has cooled down before performing any maintenance or cleaning.
- To clean, wipe with a damp, clean cloth. Never soak the fitting in water.
- Ensure the fitting does not come into contact with corrosive chemicals.
- Verify that all power leads and screws are secure before connecting the power.
