This manual provides essential operating and daily maintenance instructions for the Genie GS-1432m and GS-1932m scissor lifts. Operators must be trained and authorized before use. The manual must remain with the machine at all times.

Safety

Failure to follow safety rules can result in serious injury or death. Key safety requirements include:

• Inspect the machine and workplace before every shift.
• Do not operate on uneven or unstable surfaces.
• Do not exceed the maximum platform capacity.
• Maintain safe distances from power lines and moving parts.
• Do not use the machine as a crane or for welding ground.
• Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment if required by site regulations.

Controls

The machine features ground controls for maintenance and emergency rescue, and platform controls for operation. Key controls include the red emergency stop button, key switch for control selection, and the proportional joystick for lift, drive, and steer functions.

Pre-operation Inspection

Before each shift, the operator must perform a visual inspection, including:

• Checking for hydraulic leaks and battery fluid levels.
• Verifying all safety decals are present and legible.
• Inspecting structural components for cracks or damage.
• Ensuring all guardrails are installed and secure.
• Checking tires, wheels, and fasteners.

Operating Instructions

To operate the platform:

1. Ensure batteries are connected and the key switch is set to the desired control station.
2. Pull out the red emergency stop buttons.
3. Select the work zone (indoor/outdoor).
4. Press the lift function enable button, then use the joystick to raise or lower the platform.
5. For driving, press the drive function button, hold the enable switch, and move the joystick in the desired direction.

Maintenance

Operators are responsible for daily maintenance tasks. Programmed maintenance (quarterly, annual, biennial) must be performed by qualified technicians. Always use Genie-approved replacement parts.

Transport and Lifting

When transporting, ensure the machine is secured with at least two chains or straps. Use the designated lifting points on the chassis for overhead lifting. Always lower the platform completely before transport or lifting.
