The Hamilton Beach 14-Cup Coffee Maker is designed for household use, offering advanced features to customize your brewing experience. It includes a programmable timer, adjustable brew strength settings (Regular or Bold), and a customizable keep-warm plate with an auto-shutoff feature.

Getting Started

Before the first use, wash all removable parts in hot, soapy water, rinse, and dry. Run one brew cycle with water only and discard the water. To brew coffee, fill the water reservoir, add a paper filter and ground coffee to the basket, and select your preferred brew strength before starting the cycle.

Programming Automatic Brew

You can schedule your coffee to brew at a specific time. Use the PROG button to set the desired start time using the HOUR and MINUTE buttons. Once set, press the PROG button again to activate the automatic brew function.

Brew Options and Keep Warm

The coffee maker defaults to Regular strength. For a stronger brew, hold the BREW OPTION button until BOLD appears. For smaller batches, use the 1-4 cup setting. The keep-warm temperature and auto-off time (up to 4 hours) can be adjusted via the control panel.

Care and Maintenance

Regular cleaning is essential for optimal performance. Clean the unit at least once a month (or weekly in hard water areas) by running a cleaning cycle with white vinegar. The carafe, gold-tone filter, and removable filter basket are top-rack dishwasher safe. Do not use the SANI setting on your dishwasher, as high temperatures may damage the components.

Notifications and Troubleshooting

• Clean Notification: The display will show CLEAN after 30 cycles. Running the cleaning procedure will clear this notification.
• Water Filter: A symbol appears after 60 cycles indicating the optional water filter needs replacement.
• Troubleshooting: If the filter basket overflows or brewing is slow, ensure the carafe is properly seated, the coffee grind is not too fine, and the unit is clean. If the unit fails to turn on, check the power connection and ensure the water reservoir is correctly installed.

Safety Information

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances. Do not touch hot surfaces, keep the cord away from hot surfaces, and never immerse the cord, plug, or coffee maker in water. Use only the provided carafe and handle it with care to avoid breakage.
