Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential handling instructions for the HiKOKI G 12SE2 and G 13SE2 disc grinders. It is critical to read all safety warnings before use to prevent electric shock, fire, or serious injury. The tool is designed for grinding and abrasive cutting-off operations; sanding, wire brushing, or polishing are not recommended.
Device description and accessories
The package includes the disc grinder, a depressed center wheel, a wrench, and a side handle. The G 12SE2 uses a 115mm wheel, while the G 13SE2 uses a 125mm wheel. Both models feature a 1200W motor.
Prior to operation
- Power source: Ensure the power supply matches the requirements on the product nameplate.
- Switch: Verify the switch is in the OFF position before plugging in the tool.
- Wheel guard: Must be securely attached and adjusted before starting work.
- Trial run: After mounting a new wheel, run the tool at no-load for 30 seconds in a safe position to check for vibration or defects.
Operation
Grinding technique: Hold the machine at a 15°–30° angle to the material. Do not apply excessive pressure; the weight of the machine is usually sufficient. For initial grinding with a new wheel, draw the grinder across the workpiece toward the operator to prevent digging.
Switch operation: Depending on the model, the switch may have a locking mechanism for continuous operation. Always ensure the switch is OFF before putting the tool down.
Maintenance and inspection
- Wheel inspection: Regularly check the depressed center wheel for cracks or defects.
- Mounting screws: Periodically inspect and tighten all screws.
- Carbon brushes: Inspection and replacement must be performed only by a HiKOKI Authorized Service Center.
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the air vents to prevent dust accumulation.
- Repairs: All repairs and modifications must be carried out by an authorized service center.
