Device Description
The G 12SWA and G 13SWA are disc grinders designed for removing casting fins, finishing various steel, bronze, and aluminum materials, grinding welded sections, and cutting synthetic concrete, stone, brick, and marble.
Assembly and Operation
Follow these steps for setup and use:
- Fitting and adjusting the wheel guard: Refer to Fig. 1.
- Fixing the side handle: Refer to Fig. 2.
- Assembling the depressed center wheel: Refer to Fig. 3.
- Assembling the cutting wheel: Refer to Fig. 4.
- Assembling the diamond wheel: Refer to Fig. 5.
- Switch operation: Refer to Fig. 6.
- Grinding angle and method: Refer to Fig. 7.
Note: If the 0-voltage restart protection feature is activated, return the power switch to the OFF position and wait for at least 1 second before restarting.
Safety
Always wear eye and ear protection. Ensure the work area is clean and well-lit. Keep bystanders at a safe distance. Do not use the tool in explosive atmospheres. Ensure the power source conforms to the requirements on the product nameplate. Always disconnect the power plug when the tool is not in use or before changing accessories.
Maintenance and Inspection
- Inspecting the depressed center wheel: Ensure it is free of cracks and surface defects.
- Inspecting mounting screws: Regularly check that all screws are properly tightened.
- Inspecting carbon brushes: Should only be performed by a HiKOKI Authorized Service Center.
- Replacing supply cord: Must be done by a HiKOKI Authorized Service Center.
- Maintenance of the motor: Regularly blow out dust from the tail cover air hole using an air gun while the motor runs without load.

Common problems
The 0-voltage restart protection is active. Turn the switch to OFF, wait at least 1 second, then turn it back ON.
Check that the wheel is correctly mounted and tightened. If vibration persists, stop the tool and check for defects.
Regularly inspect all mounting screws and retighten immediately if loose.
Before use
- Ensure the power source matches the tool's nameplate.
- Check that the power switch is in the OFF position.
- Inspect the grinding wheel for cracks or defects.
- Ensure the wheel is properly mounted and the nut is tight.
- Confirm the push button is disengaged by pressing it 2-3 times.
