Product Overview
The TRÅDFRI 10W driver is a power supply unit designed for IKEA smart lighting products. While the power cord switch allows for basic ON/OFF control, a separate TRÅDFRI steering device (such as a remote control) is required to dim lights or integrate them into the IKEA smart lighting system.
Pairing with a Steering Device
To enable advanced control, you must pair the driver with a steering device. If you have multiple drivers, each can be paired with the same steering device to control them simultaneously.
- Connect at least one light product to the driver and ensure it is powered on.
- Locate the pairing symbol on the driver.
- Hold your steering device within 5 cm of the pairing symbol.
- Press and hold the pairing button on the steering device for at least 10 seconds. A steady red light will appear on the device, and the connected light will dim and flash once to confirm successful pairing.
Factory Reset
If the driver becomes unresponsive or you need to unpair it from a steering device, perform a factory reset. Insert a paper clip or similar tool into the small hole marked RESET on the driver enclosure and apply slight pressure.
Safety and Maintenance
The driver is intended for indoor use only in temperatures between 5°C and 45°C. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, near heat sources, or in wet, moist, or dusty environments to prevent overheating and damage. Clean only with a dry, soft cloth; do not use abrasive cleaners or chemical solvents. Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself, as opening the cover poses a risk of electric shock.

Common problems
Driver does not respond to steering device
Perform a factory reset by pressing the reset button inside the small hole on the driver enclosure, then re-pair the device.
Wireless range is poor
The 10m range is measured in open air. Building materials and the placement of the driver can significantly reduce the effective range.
Before use
- Ensure the driver is placed in a dry, indoor environment (5°C to 45°C).
- Connect at least one light product to the driver before starting the pairing process.
- Verify the power cord is connected to a socket and the switch is in the ON position.
- Consider pairing the driver with your steering device before final installation if access will be difficult later.
