The OFITE High Temperature High Pressure (HTHP) Filter Press is designed to evaluate drilling fluids, cement slurries, fracturing, and completion fluids under simulated downhole conditions. The 500 mL units are engineered for laboratory use, providing precise control over temperature and pressure to monitor filtration behavior and wall cake building characteristics.

Operation and Setup

The system requires careful assembly of the test cell, including proper o-ring lubrication and filter paper placement. The heating jacket must be preheated, and the sample should be stirred before being poured into the cell, leaving appropriate void space for thermal expansion. After heating for one hour, the system is pressurized, and filtration is initiated by opening the outlet valve. Filtrate collection should be performed at specified intervals.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Regular maintenance is critical for safe operation. Periodically inspect cell assemblies for corrosion, stress cracking, or elongated set screw holes. Clean the apparatus thoroughly after each use, paying special attention to the o-ring grooves.
