Before using your Rommelsbacher mini oven for the first time, please follow these essential steps:
- Cleaning: Wash all removable accessories in warm water with dishwashing detergent.
- Initial Heating: Heat the oven for 15 minutes at the maximum temperature using the 'upper and lower heat with circulating air' setting. This burns off the protective coating on the heating elements. You may notice slight smoke or smell; ensure the room is well-ventilated.
- Placement: Place the oven on a heat-resistant, stable surface. Maintain at least 4 cm of clearance on all sides and 1 meter above the unit.
- Crumb Tray: Always ensure the crumb tray is inserted below the lower heating element before operation.
Product description
The oven features an oven chamber, operating panel, and a double-glazed door. Depending on the model, accessories include a roasting/baking tray, a grill grid, and a handle for the tray. Models BG 1550, BG 1805/E, and BG 1815 also include a rotisserie spit with fixing brackets and a handle.

Operating panel
The oven is controlled via three rotary knobs:

- Top knob: Temperature setting.
- Middle knob: Function selection (e.g., defrost, upper heat, lower heat, circulating air, rotisserie).
- Bottom knob: Time setting (manual 'M' or timer).
The temperature pilot lamp indicates when the oven is heating. It cycles on and off to maintain the set temperature.
Operation
To operate the oven:
- Open the door and place food on the tray or grid. Do not use the open door as a storage shelf.
- Select the desired function using the middle knob.
- Set the temperature using the top knob.
- Set the time using the bottom knob. For manual operation, turn to 'M'. For timed operation, turn to the desired time.
- When finished, ensure all knobs are set to '0' and unplug the appliance.
Rotisserie function
Available on models BG 1550, BG 1805/E, and BG 1815:

- Defrost frozen chicken completely before grilling.
- Secure the meat on the spit using the fixing brackets and screws.
- Insert the spit into the right-hand hole first, then rest it on the left-hand support.
- Always place the roasting/baking tray in the lowest level to catch dripping grease.
- Use the rotisserie handle to safely insert and remove the hot spit.
Cleaning and maintenance
Always unplug the appliance and let it cool down before cleaning. Wipe the casing and interior with a moist cloth. The crumb tray and accessories can be washed in warm water. Do not use steel wool, abrasive cleaners, or steam cleaners. The oven door can be disassembled for deep cleaning by loosening the knurled screw, but this should only be done if heavily soiled.
Safety instructions
- Keep children under 8 years away from the appliance.
- Do not operate the oven with an external timer or remote system.
- Never cover the base of the oven or heating elements with aluminum foil.
- Always supervise food preparation involving fats and oils to prevent fire hazards.
- Do not use the oven as a space heater.
