Quick Guide

The Rommelsbacher CTA 1800/IN is a mobile induction hob designed for household use. Before operating, ensure the device is placed on a stable, heat-resistant, and dry surface with sufficient ventilation. Always use induction-compatible cookware with a base diameter between 120 mm and 200 mm. The device features an adjustable power limitation (4A, 6A, 10A) to prevent overloading electrical circuits, especially in camping or limited-power environments.

Product Description

The hob features a glass ceramic surface with a central cooking zone. The control panel includes:

  • Sensor Ein/Aus (ON/OFF): Powers the device on and off.
  • Sensor +/-: Adjusts the cooking level (1-9).
  • Sensor Set: Used to adjust and save the power limitation settings.
  • Display: Shows the current cooking level, residual heat indicators (H/L), or error codes.
  • Anzeige der Leistungsbegrenzung: Indicates the currently selected power limit (4A, 6A, or 10A).

Setup and Installation

Place the appliance on a flat, heat-resistant, and non-slip surface. Ensure there is sufficient space around the unit for air circulation to prevent overheating. Do not operate near heat sources, flammable materials, or in explosive environments. The device is not suitable for built-in installation.

Operation

Connect the power cord to the device and then to a properly installed socket. Touch the ON/OFF sensor to activate. Place suitable cookware on the zone. Use the + or - sensors to select the desired cooking level (1-9). The device will automatically enter standby mode if no cooking process starts within 60 seconds.

Power Limitation (Power Switch)

You can limit the maximum power consumption to protect your electrical system:

  • 4 A (800 W): Suitable for photovoltaic systems, emergency generators, or power stations.
  • 6 A (1250 W): Suitable for campsites or inverters in motorhomes.
  • 10 A (1800 W): Standard setting for home use.

To change the setting, touch the Set sensor. To save a setting as default, hold the Set sensor for approximately 3 seconds until you hear two beeps and the display flashes 0 twice.

Cooking with Induction

Induction heating works by generating eddy currents directly in the cookware base. Use only ferromagnetic (magnetic) cookware. Cast iron, wrought iron, enamelled steel, and stainless steel with a magnetic core are suitable. Avoid using cookware with a base diameter outside the 120-200 mm range.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Always disconnect the power plug and allow the device to cool completely before cleaning. Use a special glass scraper for coarse residues. Clean the surface with a damp cloth and mild dishwater. Do not use aggressive cleaners, steam jet appliances, or abrasive materials. Ensure no water or steam enters the device from below.

Troubleshooting

If an error occurs, the display will show a code:

  • U: No or unsuitable cookware. Use induction-compatible pots/pans.
  • E1: Electrical fault or short circuit. Contact customer service.
  • E2: Damaged temperature sensor. Contact customer service.
  • E3: Voltage too high (>270V). Unplug, wait 2 minutes, and reconnect.
  • E4: Voltage too low (<160V). Unplug, wait 2 minutes, and reconnect.
  • E6: Cooling fan damaged. Clean ventilation slots; if the issue persists, contact customer service.
