Before using your Rusta Retro Kettle for the first time, wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Fill the kettle to the maximum level with water, boil it, and discard the water. Repeat this process twice to clean the interior. Always ensure the kettle is placed on a firm, flat surface and is used only with the supplied base plate.

Safety instructions

Using the kettle

  1. Fill the kettle by removing it from the base and pressing the lid release button, or fill through the spout. Do not exceed the MAX mark or go below the MIN mark.
  2. Place the kettle on the base plate.
  3. Connect the plug to a wall socket and push the On/Off switch down. The indicator lamp will turn on.
  4. The kettle will turn off automatically once the water boils. You can manually turn it off at any time by pushing the switch upwards.
  5. Lift the kettle from the base to pour.

Care and cleaning

  • Always disconnect the plug and allow the kettle to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth using non-toxic cleaning agents.
  • Clean the filter periodically.
  • Do not use chemicals, steel, wood, or abrasive cleaning agents on the exterior.

Descaling

Regularly descale the kettle to maintain performance. You can use a commercial descaler or white wine vinegar:

  1. Pour 300 ml of white wine vinegar into the kettle and add an equal amount of water. Let the solution sit overnight.
  2. Pour out the mixture, fill with fresh water, boil, and discard. Repeat until the vinegar smell is gone.
