This document provides essential operating instructions for the Schumacher 12V Lithium Jump Starter and Portable Power Pack. It is designed to help users safely jump-start vehicles and charge mobile devices. Always ensure the unit is charged to at least 50% capacity before use and store in a cool, dry place.

Charging the jump starter

The unit should be charged before first use and after every use. To charge:

• Plug the USB end of the charging cable into the charger port.
• Connect the other end to a wall outlet or a powered USB port.
• The device can be safely charged at temperatures between 32°F and 113°F (0°C and 45°C).

Jump starting a vehicle

Follow these steps to jump-start a vehicle:

1. Ensure the jump starter has at least 50% charge.
2. Connect the red clamp to the positive (+) battery terminal and the black clamp to the negative (-) terminal or a solid metal part of the engine block.
3. Plug the cable assembly into the jump starter socket.
4. Attempt to start the vehicle. If it does not start within 5 seconds, wait 60 seconds before trying again.
5. Once the engine starts, disconnect the clamps in reverse order.

Wireless charging and USB power

The unit features two USB ports and a wireless charging pad. To use:

• Press the power button to activate the unit.
• Place the compatible device on the wireless charging pad.
• For USB charging, connect your device cable to the USB port. The unit provides up to 2.2A output.
• The unit will automatically shut off after 15 seconds if no device is detected.

Maintenance and storage

• Keep the unit clean and dry. Wipe with a cloth to remove dirt or oil.
• Store in a cool, dry place between -4°F and 113°F (-20°C and 45°C).
• Recharge the unit as soon as possible after each use.
• Do not store the unit for long periods without recharging to prevent over-discharge.

Safety warnings

Warning: Risk of explosive gases. Working in the vicinity of a lead-acid battery is dangerous. Batteries generate explosive gases during normal operation. Never smoke or allow a spark or flame in the vicinity of a battery. Do not use the unit if it is damaged or modified.
