Handling and static-discharge precautions

• Always wear a grounded wrist strap during the entire installation process.
• Handle the drive only by its edges or frame.
• Do not press down on the top cover.
• Rest the drive on a padded, antistatic surface until it is mounted.
• Do not touch connector pins or the printed circuit board.
• Do not remove factory-installed labels, as this voids the warranty.

Drive mounting

The drive can be mounted in any orientation using four screws in either the side or bottom mounting holes.

• Use only 6-32 UNC mounting screws.
• Screws should be inserted no more than 0.140 in (3.56mm) into the mounting holes.
• Do not overtighten screws (maximum torque: 6 in-lb).
• Maintain a minimum clearance of 0.030 in (0.76mm) around the entire perimeter for cooling.

Power specifications

The drive uses a native SATA power connector (+5V or +12V). Power management modes include Active, Idle (Performance, Active, Low Power), Standby, and Sleep. The drive supports hot-plugging per the Serial ATA Revision 3.2 specification.

Safety and environment

The drive is designed for operation in environments with temperatures between 10°C and 60°C. Avoid exposure to corrosive chemicals, sulfide, chloride, or nitrate contaminants, and condensing water on the PCBA. Ensure proper airflow to maintain nominal operating temperatures.
