This document provides instructions for updating the LCD firmware on the EG4 18KPV Hybrid Inverter. The process involves preparing a USB flash drive, downloading the firmware, and performing the update via the communications board port.
Formatting the USB flash drive
Before starting, ensure your USB drive is correctly formatted:

- Plug the USB drive into your computer.
- Open File Explorer, right-click the USB drive, and select Format.
- Set Capacity to 2, 4, 8, or 16GB if not detected automatically.
- Set File system to FAT32.
- Set Allocation unit size to 4096 bytes.
- Deselect the Quick Format checkbox and click Start.
Downloading and preparing firmware
- Download the EG4-18kPV-LCD-Firmware.zip file from eg4electronics.com.
- Right-click the downloaded file and unzip it to your desktop.
- Open the unzipped folder; it should contain two folders and one PDF.
- Copy the DWIN_SET folder.
- Paste the DWIN_SET folder onto the root directory of your USB drive.
- Safely remove the USB drive from your computer.
Installing the update

- Power off the inverter.
- Insert the USB drive into the USB2 port located on the communications board.
- Power on the inverter. The update will begin automatically and display a start-up screen for approximately 3 minutes.
- Once the screen restarts and returns to the home screen, the update is complete.
- Remove the USB drive from the communications board.
Verification
To confirm the update was successful, check the LCD version number displayed in the lower-right corner of the physical display.
