Cleaning and maintenance

Unplug the appliance before cleaning. Clean the outside of the kettle and base with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents. Remove the limescale filter, soak it in a little vinegar, and rinse with clear water. Rinse the kettle and filter with clear water.

Descaling

Regular descaling extends the life of your kettle and saves energy. Fill the kettle with water to the 1.5 mark and bring to a boil. Add a small amount of white vinegar and let it sit for several hours, or use a commercial descaling agent according to the manufacturer's instructions. Rinse thoroughly with clear water.

Troubleshooting

If the kettle does not heat up and the temperature indicator does not light up, the overheat protection may have tripped. Let the kettle cool down for some time. If the unit turns off before the water boils, it may contain too much scale; descale the kettle as instructed.
