The Trotec UV-TorchLight 15F is a professional LED UV flashlight designed for detecting UV-active substances. Before using the device, ensure you read all safety instructions, particularly regarding UV radiation exposure. Always use the provided charger and recommended batteries (18650 Li-Ion or 2x CR123A). Do not look directly into the UV beam and keep the device away from children.

Product description
The UV-TorchLight 15F features an adjustable focus for varying beam width and intensity. It is constructed from anodized aluminum and is rated IPX7 for water resistance. It is intended for use in industry, building physics, chemistry, and forensics.

Scope of delivery
- 1x LED UV-TorchLight 15F
- 1x Hand strap
- 1x 18650 Li-Ion battery
- 1x Charger
- 1x User manual
Getting started
Inserting the battery: Unscrew the tailcap of the torch. Insert the 18650 Li-Ion battery or two CR123A batteries with the positive pole facing the lamp head. Screw the tailcap back on securely.

Switching on/off: Press the switch gently for momentary light. Press the switch hard for continuous light. Press again to turn off.
Adjusting the focus: Rotate the lamp head to adjust the beam from a pinpoint to a broad beam. Do not adjust the focus while the torch is submerged in water.
Charging the battery
Use the included CH-01 charger. Insert the battery with the positive pole facing the LED indicator. The LED will glow red while charging and green when fully charged. The charging cycle takes approximately 3.5 hours. If storing the battery for more than 2 months, charge it to full capacity first.
Maintenance
Regularly clean the O-rings and sealing surfaces. Applying a small amount of Vaseline to the O-rings can extend their lifespan.
Troubleshooting
If the torch does not turn on, check the following:
- Ensure the battery is inserted with the correct polarity (positive pole towards the head).
- Verify the battery is fully charged.
- Ensure the tailcap is screwed on tightly.
- If the torch still fails to work, the switch may be defective. Contact Trotec service at +49 2452 962-450.

Practical help
Common problems
Check if the battery is inserted with the positive pole facing the lamp head, ensure the battery is charged, and verify the tailcap is screwed on tightly.
If the torch works when the battery negative pole is connected directly to the aluminum housing with a paper clip, the tailcap switch is likely defective and needs replacement.
Before use
- Inspect the torch for transport damage upon arrival.
- Charge the battery fully before first use.
- Ensure you have the correct battery type (18650 Li-Ion with protection or 2x CR123A).
- Verify O-rings are clean and lubricated.
Specs in practice
- Wavelength (365 nm)
- The specific UV-A range required for detecting fluorescent traces and UV-active substances.
- Focus adjustment
- Allows switching between a narrow, intense beam for distance and a wide beam for close-up area illumination.
Images and diagrams
- Reflector with focus: Rotate this part to change the beam width.
- Tailcap: Unscrew this to access the battery compartment.
- Switch: Located on the tailcap; controls momentary and continuous light modes.
Model compatibility
- Only use 18650 Li-Ion batteries that have overvoltage and undervoltage protection.
- Do not use optics to focus the light beam within the light cone.
- Do not use chargers other than the one supplied (CH-01).
